Abstrak

Elienda Puspita. 161230077. 2020. An Analysis Of Directive Speech Acts Used By Aladdin In The “Aladdin” Movie Script. (A Content Analysis of Aladdin Movie Script) The research was conducted to direct the speech action at the 2019 Aladdin film using the Pragmatic approach. The objectives of this study are 1). To identify the directive speech acts contained in the Aladdin film script; 2) Describe the implied meaning of each speech act of the conversational directive contained in the dialogue used by the main character in the Aladdin film script. This research is a qualitative study using content analysis. The subject of this research is the 2019 Aladdin film directed by Guy Ritchie. The data source was obtained from the words of the characters in the 2019 Aladdin film. Data analysis was carried out by watching the film from beginning to end, identifying, coding and grouping data to find conclusions. The results of this study describe the investigation process using the directive speech act principle of Charles W. Kreidler. The writer found 30 expressions containing directive speech acts. The 30 utterances are divided into 4 types, namely 15 utterances which are included in the command sentence, 9 utterances which are included in the request sentence, 4 utterances which are included in the suggestion sentence and 2 utterances which are included in the order sentence.
