Abstrak

This research investigates The Effectiveness of Question Answer Relationsipin in Teaching Reading Comprehension on Recount Text. Specially, this research conducted based on the main problems: 1) How is the students’ reading ability of eighth grade students of MTs Darul Hijrah Wal Banna Kab. Pandeglang? 2) How is the Question-Answer Relationship applied in teaching students’ reading comprehension in understanding recount text? 3) How is the effectiveness of Question-Answer Relationship on students’ reading comprehension in understanding recount text? In reference to the mentioned research problem, this research aimed at 1) toknow the students’ reading ability of eighth grade students of MTs Darul Hijrah Wal Banna Kab. Pandeglang. 2) to describe the Question-Answer Relationship applied in teaching students’ reading comprehension in understanding recount text. 3) to find out the effectiveness of Question-Answer Relationship on students’ reading comprehension in understanding recount text. To answer the research question, the researcher takes class VIII A, as experimental class which consist of 30 students, and class VIII B as control class which also consist of 30 students. The class VIII A as experimental class and VIII B as control class are taken as sample. Since the research uses experimental method, the data is gathered through pre-test and post-test. The result of the analysis of the research shows that the value of to is (8,67), which is higher than tt with level of significance 5% (2,00) or with level of significance 1% (2,66), since to = 8,67 > 2,00 ot to 8,67 > 2,66 it means that the researcher reject H0 which means there is no the influence of using QAR on students’ reading comprehension in teaching recount text and accept Ha which means there is the influence of using QAR in teaching reading comprehension on recount text.
