Abstrak

Fajar Sidik. 152301820. 2019. The Effectiveness of Using English Movie to Improve Student’s Vocabulary Mastery (A Quasi-Experimental Study At Tent Grade Of MA Miftahul Huda Tigaraksa ). A paper of English Education Department at the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training of Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin State Islamic University of Banten. Advisers : Ila Amalia, M.Pd, and Tri Ilma Septiana, M.Pd This research investigates using English movie to improve students’ vocabulary mastery. This research used experiment research, it was conducted based on the main problems, 1) How is the student’s vocabulary skill before using English movie at tenth grade of MA Miftahul Huda Tigaraksa, Tangerang? 2) How is the student’s vocabulary skill after using English movie at MA Miftahul Huda Tigaraksa, Tangerang ? 3) How is the effectiveness of watching English movie and vocabulary mastery at tenth grade of MA Miftahul Huda ? the researcher collected data from 60 students that spared into two classes. one class as experimental class and another one is as the control class. The researcher used quasi experimental design with use the instruments were three stages are pre-test, treatment, and posttest. Population of the research was the the tenth grade of MA Miftahul Huda Tigarkasa, academic year 2019/2020. The sample of the research used class X mipa 1 as experimental research and class X mipa 2 as control class. The result of this research shows that the students vocabulary abilities who used english movie achieved better performance than those who doest not use English movie The result of the data analysis is using t-test the value of is 3,66, the degree of freedom 58. In the degree significance 5% = 1,67 in degree of significance 1% = 2,39. After that the writer compared the data with (t table) both in degree significance 5% and 1%. Therefore = 3,66 > 1,67 in degree of significance 5% and = 3,66 > 2,39 in degree significance 1% is bigger than 5% .it means there is significance effect of using English movie to improve students’vocabulary mastery.
