Abstrak
Communicative language teaching is a suitable method to improve students’ speaking skill and can solved many problems that were happened in teaching speaking skill. In this way, the students’ speaking skill can be improved by communi cation language teaching, because communicative language teaching that can help an English teacher to build and create the situation where language is used actively and can involve the students’ in real or realistic communication. By giving role play techn ique, the student will be more co nfidence, participating, enjoy and active in learning and teaching process and help them to develop or improve their speaking ability in front of their friends in the class. Learning and teaching process speaking skill thro ugh communicative language teaching (C LT) will be better done in pair or group, because all of the activities promote in communication. The method of this research is experiment research design. The result of this research show that there is improvement in students’ speaking skill in actively communicative by using Communicative Language Teaching. Most of students’ in the second grade of MTs. Al - Irfan Nusantara Tangerang achieved good score in post - test. The finding of this research related to the test, t hey were pre - test and post - test. The average score of pre - test from experimental class is 68,52 and the control class is 51,16. The average score of post - test from experimental class is 72,68 and the control class is 53,16. Related to the result of the res earch showed that communicative language teaching (CLT) is a suitable method to improve students’ speaking skill and can solved many problems that were happened in teaching speaking skill. The writer would like to give some suggestion for the reader and t he other researcher also can explore more type of English teaching material by using Communicative Language Teaching (CLT)
