Abstrak

The objective of the research is t o investigate students’ ability in writing narrative text at Secon d Grade of SMPN 2 Cikande and to i nvestigate the effect of using plot diagram in teaching students’ writing skill on narrative text . This research used experiment research it has conducted based on the main problem s , 1) How is the students ’ ability in writing narrative text before using plot diagram ? 2) How is the effect of using plot diagram in teaching students’ writing skill on narrative text? To investigate of the research, the researcher collects data from 50 students that spared into two classes, one class as experimental class which consists of 25 students and another one is as the control class which consists of 25 students. The researcher used of quasi experimental design with three stages is pre - test, treatment, and post - test. The sample of the research used class VIII C as experimental class and Class VIII D as control class. Based on the result statistic calculation, it is obtained that the score of is = 6.12 = 1.67 in degree of significance 5%. The score of is = 6.12 2 .40 in degree of significance 1%. It means that = , is accepted and is rejected. It leads to the conclusion that there is significant effect of using Plot Diagram in teaching students’ writing skill on narrative text at Second Grade of SMPN 2 Cikande.
