Abstrak
The purpose of this study is to know what the most effectiveness media for teaching listening between podcast and song. The objective of this research is to find out significant difference between the use podcast media and song media in increasing teaching listening. The researcher used quantitative method by using descriptive quantitative research in order to investigate whether comparison teaching listening by using podcast media and song media. The total sample in this research was 87 students that were chosen by using cluster random sampling. XII MIPA-3 as experimental class A and XII MIPA-6 as experimental class B. Pre-test and post-test were implemented to collect data. In collecting the data, the instrument was used test (pre-test and post-test). After giving the pre-test and post-test, SPSS was used to analyse the data to compute independent sample t-test. The study had been done in four meetings that were designed: the first meeting was for the pre-test, two meetings that were for treatments and the last meeting were for the post-test. The finding of the study shows that independent sample t-test Sig = 0.002 and α = 0.05. Its means the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted while the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. In other words, it is concluded that there was significant difference between the use podcast media and song media in increasing teaching listening at the twelfth grade of SMAN 3 Kota Serang. And song media is the most effectiveness media for teaching listening. The limitation of the study first this study only included a small number of participants and texts. It is not possible to say that the research conclusions are broadly applicable to many temporal and spatial circumstances. Therefore, the researcher suggest that for future researchers, this research gave opportunity for the researcher to apply what had been earned from academic learning contribution to solve real problem in the field. Moreover it will also give advantage to another researcher who takes the same topic to use this research as references to conduct the research.
