Abstrak
This research was conducted to explain about students' self-confidence in Speaking Skill through Roleplaying as a News Anchor. Researcher use theory based on Santika Purwa Ningsih and Attin Warmi about four main indicators to measure self-confidence to define scope about students self-confidence. The background of the research because from Rafiq Ahmad Lone in his research under titled Self-confidence among Students and its Impact on their Academic Performance: A Systematic Review” that showed, self-confidence had a significant impact on academic achievement and vice versa among students, from the previous study that showed that many students that have low self-confidence and researcher would to find whether there are the students that have self-confidence. This study used the descriptive qualitative method. In the process of data collection, the researcher use questionnaire about self-confidence, the researcher also do interview to know students’ way to maintain self-confidence in speaking activites and wider answer and validation from questionnaire about self-confidence use open ended question. The finding show that so many students that categorized into have self-confidence. There are 27 of 30 students fulfilled four main indicator to measure self-confidence and from interview why the students have self-confidence because the students have practice, prepare, learn and they consider it as their responsibility in learning activity to have self-confidence.
