Abstrak

EFL Students’ Perception on Grammar In Speaking Activity (A Survey Research at The 3th Semester English Education Department of State Islamic University Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten). This research investigated about students’ perception on grammar in speaking activity. This research aims to identify how are students’ perception on grammar in speaking activity, to find out the aspect that the difficulties and should be improved on the grammar in grammar mastery. The type of this research is survey research. The subject of this research is the 3th semester English students class from English Education Department at The State Islamic University Sultan MaulanaHasanuddinBanten who have learned grammar and they are using speaking activity. The research finding is presented descriptively in order to reveal the students’ perception on using grammar in speaking activity. The result showed that the students have positive perception on the important of grammar and students perceived grammar can help them in speaking which effect on their speaking skill. In this research is also found that intralingual errors happened. In addition, the students faced difficulties in memorizing 16 tenses but the three strategies such as memorizing, using auxiliary tool, and practice help them to overcome the difficulties.
