Abstrak

Aniatul Jannah. 161230002. 2020. The Correlation Between Students’ Linguistic Intelligence and Their Writing Ability (A Correlational Study at the First Grade of Senior High School Cahaya Madani Banten Boarding School (CMBBS) Kabupaten Pandeglang) The goal of this is study is to know and describe the correlation between students’ linguistic intelligence and their writing ability. The population of this study was the first grade of senior high school Cahaya Madani Boarding School Kabupaten Pandeglang in academic year 2019/2020. This study used a quantitative method with the correlational as the research design of study. The instruments used for collecting data were linguistic intelligence questionnaire and writing ability test. Both tests were conducted to measure students’ linguistic intelligence and writing ability. The data which was collected was calculated by using Pearson Product Moment Correlation to see whether there was any significant correlation between the two variables. Based on the research analysis, the correlation between the two variables was found at the value of tcount was 2.803 which was higher than the value of ttable (1.694) in the significance of 5% in which 1.694 < 2.803. Moreover, the result of r is 0.763 which was on strong or high level according to the table of interpretation of correlation product moment. Hence, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is rejected and null hypothesis (H0) is accepted. In conclusion, there is strong correlation between students’ linguistic intelligence and their writing ability at first grade of senior high school Cahaya Madani Boarding School Kabupaten Pandeglang in academic year 2019/2020.
