Abstrak

This Research is conducted on the main problems of how students speaking skill before and after Stand-up Comedy at the Second Grade Senior High School of Al-Ishlah Kananga is and the second is how the influence of Stand-up Comedy in speaking skill at at the Second Grade Senior High School of Al-Ishlah Kananga. In reference to the afro-mentioned research problem, this research is aimed to know the students speaking skills before and after Stand-up Comedy at the Second Grade Senior High School of Al-Ishlah Kananga and to find out the influence of Stand-up Comedy in speaking skill at at the Second Grade Senior High School of Al-Ishlah Kananga. Then, to solve the problems, the writer uses quasi experimental method two classes, one class as experimental group and the other one is as the control group. The researcher uses speaking test in pre test and post test to know the students speaking ability. The result states that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The use of Stand-up Comedy technique is better than those who is not using Stand-up comedy technique. By df = 48 and analyzed by using t-test, the researcher stated that here is effectiveness of Stand-up Comedy on students speaking ability, because tobservation is bigger than ttable. Than ttable in 5% and 1% the ttable with significant level 1% is 2.40 and significant level 5% is 1.67 where as tobservation is 12.21. It means that tobservation is (12.21) > ttable (1.67) in 5% and tobservation (12,21) > ttable (2.40) in 1%. It means that both variables have significant correlation. In other word, Stand-up Comedy on students speaking ability is effective. The researcher finds out using Stand-up Comedy technique can be an alternative to develop students speaking ability, through Stand-up Comedy students can display funny stories or comedy in narrative form, recount text, anecdot text and spoof text.
