Abstrak

The purpose of this research is to measure the effectiveness of using Duolingo in teaching listening skills. The research method in this research is a quasi-experimental design that includes three steps; Pre-test, treatment, and post-test. The population of this study was the eighth grade of SMPN 2 Gunungsari, Kab. Serang which consists of two classes. The number of samples is the same as the number of the population, namely VIII A as the experiment class and VIII B as the control class. Each class consists of 30 Students English Foreign Learners. The researcher used the t-test formula to analyze data post-test results from the experiment class. The results of post-test in the experimental and control class with mean score 76,2>63,2. The t-test results with significance 5% reveal that to>tt or 5.44>1.67 According to the t-test, Ha or alternative hypothesis is accepted and Ho or Null hypothesis is rejected. It concludes that Duolingo has a significant effect on teaching listening skills In The Eighth Grade of SMPN 2 Gunungsari, Kab. Serang.
