Abstrak
This research investigates the influence of TGT method to teach personal pronoun on writing descriptive text. As stated in the title: “The influence of Team Games Tournament Method to Teach Personal Pronoun on Writing Decsriptive Text an Experimental Research at Second Grade of SMPN 2 Pulosari”. The research is conducted based on the main problem: 1) How is students’ understanding on personal pronoun? 2) How is team games tournament method applied in teaching personal pronoun? 3) How is the influence of using team games tournament method to increase students’ understanding on personal pronoun on writing descriptive text?. This research is aimed at: 1. Knowing students’ understanding on personal pronoun. 2. Knowing the application of team game tournament method used in teaching personal pronoun on writing descriptive text 3. Knowing the influence of teams games tournament method to increase students’ understanding of personal pronoun on writing descriptive text. To answer the questions, the writer collected data from 60 students, by divided them into two classes, one group as the experiment class and another one as control class. The population of the research is second grade of four classes in SMPN 2 Pulosari. The writer takes sample two classes, class VIII A as the experiment group and class VIII C as a control group. During the research, the writer used quasi experimental method and the data is gathered through pre-test and post-test. Based on the result of calculation in chapter IV it shows that the value of the observation (t ) is the degree of freedom (df) is (obtained from (N1 + N2) - 2) = ( + ) – = ). The writer used the degree of significance of 5% and 1%. In the table significance, it can be seen that on the df 58 and on degree of significance are 2.00 and . If the t compared with each value of degree of significance, the result is < > . since to score obtained from the result of calculating, the alternative hypothesis (H ) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H ) is rejected. It means that there is significance influence using team games tournament (TGT) method in teaching personal pronoun on writing descriptive text
