Abstrak

This research is to find out whether there is an increase in the use of pop-up image book media with visualization strategies for teaching narrative writing skills to class VIII students at SMP IT AL-HUSEIN in the 2023/2024 academic year. The research question is how effective is pop up media for teaching narrative writing skills? The population for this study was from SMP IT ALHUSEIN class VIII. The total sample was 40 students, the research class was divided into two classes Experimental class and Control class. In conducting this research, the researcher conducted Quantitative research, used a Quasi-experimental design. This data collection technique uses Test instruments (Pre-Test, Treatment and Post-Test). The pre-test and post-test results were analyzed using the SPSS statistics V.25 application, and it was found that there was a significant influence and the use of Pop Up Book Media in teaching Narrative Text for SMP IT AL-HUSEIN students in class VIII grade. The result of the post-test that has been carried out shows an improvement after being given treatment, which can be seen from the average pretest score is 9.05 and the post test is 1.235. The effectiveness of this media based on the result of data analysis getting average score of 3,300 and the average standard deviation is 1.976 with a significance is 0,000. It can be conclude that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted because the significance of is < 0,05, which means this media is effective for teaching narrative writing skill.
