Abstrak

This study aims to determine the correlation between grammar accuracy and their willingness to speak in English of the third semester students of English Education Department academic year 2021/2022 at the State Islamic University of Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten. The population in this study was the third semester of English Education Department academic year 2021/2022. The samples of this study were 31 students. This research used correlation design with Pearson Product Moment to analyze the data. This research uses two kinds of instruments there are test and questionnaire. The results of the grammar accuracy score show that 2 students are included in the excellent category or 6, 5%, 1 student is included in the good category 3, 2%, 4 students are included in the fair category or 12, 9%, 13 students are included in the poor category or 41, 9% and 11 students are included in the very poor category or 35, 5%. Meanwhile, on the results of the willingness to speak in English score, there were 27 students included in the average willingness category or 87, 1% and 4 students included in the low willingness category. The results show that students' grammar accuracy is poor and their willingness to speak in English is average. The score on pearson product moment shows that the correlation coefficient is in 0,470 that the score is between 0, 40 – 0, 70, meaning that the interpretation of the correlation is moderate and the correlation between the two variables is 22.09%.
