Abstrak

This research aims to describe the test quality of English Final Term Examination in the academic year 2020/2021 in terms of difficulty level and discrimination power at MTs Al-Khairiyah Kamasan. This research used quantitative research as a method by using descriptive analysis. The instrument used in this research is the first semester of final term examination test in the academic year 2020/2021 of multiple choices questions. The population of the research is the seventh grade of MTs Al-Khairiyah Kamasan that consist of 44 students, 24 students from 1A and 20 students from 1B. Then, the researcher took two classes (1A and 1B) as sample which consist of 44 students. The researcher divided the sample into three groups: 27% of upper group, 46% of middle group and 27% of lower group based on students score. The research findings of the last result showed in term of difficulty level that 16% (4 test items) classified as difficult, 80% (20 test items) classified as moderate and 4% (1 test item) classified as easy. Meanwhile, in term of discrimination power that 8% (2 test items) classified as very poor item, 8% (2 test items) classified as poor item, 8% (2 test items) classified as satisfactory item, 52% (13 test items) classified as good item and 24% (6 test items) classified as excellent item. On the whole, based on the result above that the test item categorized as the good item and possibilities to use for the next test.
