Abstrak

Pricayani Dian Husniati, 161230081, 2020, “ The application of jazz chants media in students’ vocabulary enrichment (An Experimental Research at the Fourth Grade of MI Nurul Falah Cadas)”, Undergraduate Research Paper, English Education Department, Faculty Of Education And Teacher Training, The Islamic University Of Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten. Advisors : Dr. H. Naf’an Tarihoran, M. Hum. And Hj. Eulis Rahmawati, M. Pd. This research is about the application of jazz chants media in students’ vocabulary enrichment at the Fourth Grade of MI Nurul Falah Cadas. The objective of this research is to know the students’ ability in English vocabulary and to know the influence of jazz chants as media in learning vocabulary. This research was using pre-experimental method, with one group of pre-test and post- test design. The population of the research was the students of MI Nurul Falah Cadas which consist was 150 students. The sample of this researcher was the fourth grade of MI Nurul Falah Cadas which consist was 20 students, was taking by random sampling technique. The result of this research showed that the hyphothesis, the alternative hyphothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hyphothesis (Ho) is rejected its showed from the statistical value that signifficant 5% = 2,09 and signifficant 1% = 2,86 and the result of to = 8,67. The data showed that the t observation higher than t table. It can be concluded that there is significance differences in teaching vocabulary before using Jazz chants and after using Jazz chants for the fourth grade of MI Nurul Falah Cadas. The researcher concluded that the students’ ability in English vocabulary is low it can be seen from the post-test score is higher than pre-test. It means that the influece of jazz chants in teaching vocabulary is to improve students’ vocabulary.
