Abstrak

Learning media plays an important role in improving students' reading skills. The study aims to determine the implementation of the Mondly Languages Application and Flashcard Learning Media in learning reading skills in class VII at Pariskian Islamic Middle School, Serang City. This also aims to determine the differences in reading skills between students who use the Mondly Languages application and those who use Flashcard Learning Media. The research method used in this research is quantitative with a pre-experimental design, which is a comparative study. This research involved two experimental classes: experimental class 1 using the Mondly Languages application, and experimental class 2 using Flashcard Learning Media. To find out learning results before and after using the Mondly Languages Application and Flashcard Learning Media, a pretest and posttest were carried out. The results of this research show that there are differences in student learning outcomes before and after using learning media. The average posttest score was 87.6 in experimental class 1 and 89.8 in experimental class 2. Hypothesis testing via t-test on posttest scores showed a value of 0.316 < 2.011. These results indicate that there is no significant difference between the learning outcomes of students in experimental class 1 and experimental class 2 after being given treatment. In conclusion, research shows that the Mondly Language Application and Flashcard Learning Media have a positive effect on students' reading skills. However, there is no significant difference between the two learning media in terms of student learning outcomes.
