Abstrak

The research investigated students' speaking skills in English daily conversation. This research aims to describe the implementation of English daily conversation, the problems faced by students in English daily conversation and solution of the problems. This research was conducted at Al Madina Islamic Boarding School. The method used is qualitative, the instruments used in this research are observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the research show that the implementation of daily conversation in English looked good. English daily conversation can help students explore their speaking skills after implementing this program, so they can improve their speaking abilities. The problems faced by students in English daily conversation are not confident, lack of vocabulary, difficulty in pronunciation, and lack of adequate grammar knowledge. The solution to overcome students' problems in English daily conversation is 1) increasing speaking practice in daily activities both with friends and with teachers to train self-confidence in speaking skills, 2) reading English books, then take notes on the new words you find to increase vocabulary, 3) ask friends to correct mistakes in pronunciation, watch videos and play English audio to find out the correct pronunciation then practice it, 4) and do exercise to train grammar sensitivity and practice constructing sentences based on grammatical rules.
