Abstrak
This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of audio visual to improve student’s listening skill. in this study, there were two research questions, namely: (1) How was the listening skill of the tenth grade students of SMKN 3 Cilegon before and after using the audio visual? (2) How is the effectiveness of Audio Visual to improve student’s Listening skill?. This study used a quasi-experimental design which involved to two classes, namely X (AK 2) that acted as a control class and X (ULP 2) which acted as an experimental class consisted of 32 students in each class so that the total number of students is 64 students of class X as respondents. The final finding of this study revealed that t0 is greater than t table at a significant level of 5%, namely t table = 0.886 and t observation = 2.83. In addition, the results of observations show that students are more motivated in learning English, especially in listening subjects. Based on the above results, it can be concluded that the audio visual can improve students' listening ability compared to those who do not use it.
