Abstrak

Masnawati. 171230082. 2021. An Analysis of Students’ Errors in Using Personal Pronoun in Descriptive Text (A Case Study at SMPIT Bina Insani Al Barokah-Pandeglang). The aims of this research were to find out the students’ errors in using personal pronoun and the causes of it in descriptive text at SMPIT Bina Insani Al-Barokah Pandeglang. This research used case study approach. The respondents in this research were the Eight Grade Students of SMPIT Bina Insani Al-Barokah Pandeglang. The data of this research were gained from three kinds of instruments, that are observation, interview and documentation. There were 12 students as the sample in this research. The result showed (1) the common errors made by students were Misformation which reached 60 0r 75%, the second highest errors made by students were omission with a total of 10 or 12.5% errors. The third errors were Addition with the total 6 or 7.5%. while the lowest error in this research is Misordering with the total 4 or 5%. (2) the researcher prove that students still do not understand about the material given by the teacher. The reason why students make errors is because they are still confused and contaminated with their mother tongue and do not understand grammar and they are bored with uninteresting learning methods.
