Abstrak

This research investigated The Effectiveness of Teaching Speaking by Using Group Investigtion Technique at the 3rd Grade of MTs Syekh Bajang Tanara. The research is conducted based on the main problem : 1. How is the students’ speaking ability at the 3rd grade of MTs Syekh Bajang Tanara?. 2. How is the effectiveness of teaching speaking by using group investigation technique?. This research aimed at 1. To identify the roles of group investigation technique to teaching speaking. 2. To identify the effectiveness of teaching speaking by using group investigation technique in MTs Syekh Bajang Tanara. To answer question, the writer collect data from 62 students at 3rd grade of MTs Syekh Bajang. The writer used an experiment method, which take one group Pre-test Post-test, and using quantification data. The conclusions of the research is that there is the effectiveness of teaching speaking by using group investigation technique, it can be seen from the result that researcher has gotten the average score of tobservation = 11.8 and ttable = 2,00 and 2,65 with the level significant of 5% or 1%. So to is bigger than tt . It means that using group investigation technique in teaching speaking is effective.
