Abstrak

This research is to observe the implementation of Kurikulum Merdeka in Speaking Instructions at the seventh grade of MTs Al-Khairiyah Kotasari. This research is conducted based some problems: (1) How is the implementation of Kurikulum Merdeka in English speaking instruction at Islamic Junior High School Al-Khairiyah Kotasari? (2) What do students opinion about learning English speaking instruction in Kurikulum Merdeka? Researchers use the qualitative descriptive method. Researchers using observation instruments, interviews, questionnaires and documents. Respondents in this study were teacher and students class VII B at MTs Al-Khairiyah Kotasari academic 2023/2024. The subject of the study is the English teacher at seventh B grade which implemented Kurikulum Merdeka. Analysis of this research data using observation and score of the students who have the teacher as an archive. The result of this study found the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in English Speaking Instructions in MTs Al-Khairiyah Kotasari received a positive response from teachers and students as seen from the results of observations and student grades. However, the Merdeka curriculum in MTs Al-Khairiyah Kotasari is not perfect because there are no P5 activities in English.
