Abstrak

The aim of this research is to determine whether there is a correlation between self- confidence and public speaking ability. This research problem refers to the correlation between self-confidence and public speaking ability. Research conducted on. 8th grade student at SMP PLUS Assaadah Cikeusal. The population of this study was 237 active students who were studying as members of grade 8 students at SMP PLUS Assaadah Cikeusal Seang Banten for the 2023/2024 academic year. The sample for this research was 8th grade students at SMP PLUS Assaadah Cikeusal, totaling 57 students, with details of 29 male students and 28 female students. The type of data used is quantitative. Data was obtained using a self-confidence questionnaire and a public speaking test and analyzed using correlation analysis (SPSS) with the Pearson Product-Moment formula. Furthermore, it is known that the r-obtained is (0.351), so the researcher concludes that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. The results of the study concluded T that there is a relationship between self-confidence and public speaking ability in class 8 of SMP PLUS Assaadah Cikeusal Serang Banten.
