Abstrak

Kevin Maulidi Rahman. 152301900. 2021. The Implementation Of The Student Team Achievement Division Method To Enhancing Speaking Skill On Second Grade Student Of Mts Daarul Falah Kopo. The research is conducted based on the statement of problems 1)How is students’ speaking skill at second grade of MTS Daarul Falah Kopo taught by using STAD method? 2)How is students’ speaking skill at second grade of MTS Daarul Falah Kopo taught without using STAD method? 3) Is there any significant difference of students’ speaking skill between those taught by using STAD method and without using it at second grade of MTS Daarul Falah Kopo? To answer the question, the researcher used quantitative research by implementing quasi experimental design as the research method. The population of this study was the students of the second grade of MTS Daarul Falah Kopo. The sample was divided into two groups, namely control group and experimental group. There were 30 students in control group and 30 students in experimental group. The experimental group was taught by using STAD and control group was taught without using STAD. After conducting the treatments and evaluating both pre-test and post-test have given, the researcher found that there was significant influence of using STAD to improve speaking skill. After collecting and calculating the data, the value of the result of t-test shows that tt > to or 7,67 > 1.67 in degree of significance 5% and the result showed that t-test bigger than t-table, tt > to or 7,67 > 1.67. in brief, from t-test, it can draw a conclusion that Ha or alternative hypothesis is accepted. Meanwhile, Ho or null hypothesis is rejected. In other words, there is significant difference between group which use STAD and group which did not use STAD teaching.
