Abstrak

Tedi Rido. 132301491. 2019. The Effectiveness Of Peer Tutor Strategy In Learning English ( An Experimental research at the first grade of MA Daar al Ilmi Serang ) This research investigates the use of peer tutor in learning English. This research was to find out how effective teaching grammar by using peer tutor especially in simple past tense. This research use two groups or classes as experiment class and control class by applying quasi experimental research method. The instrument used in this research was test ( pre-test and post-test). This research involves 36 students as among the first grade of MA Daar Al-Ilmi Kota Serang 2019 as a population. The research finding of the last result showed that “t observation” that the writer got from the calculating is higher than “t table” both at significance level 5%= 1,69 and with significance level 1%= 2,44 so taccount = 2, 91. So, 1,69 < 2,91 and > 2,44. It’s mean that t0 > tt and the writer concluded the alternative hypothesis is accepted. In practice, it means that there is a significant from effectiveness of students’ ability in simple past tense through Peer Tutor strategy.
