Abstrak

Rizky Zanuar. 161230147. 2020. “Designing Instructional Materials of Speaking for Vocational School in SMKN 3 Kota Serang for Department of Catering”. This study aims to create a module in the class XI subject of English of catering depatrtment at SMKN 3 Serang City, especially in speaking material. This Learning Module is expected to be feasible and makes it easier for students to absorb the material then apply it to culinary skills. The research conducted is a research and development or Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development and Implementation, Evaluation). Research population are students of Class XI Catering, totaling 31 students. Data with observation and questionnaires. Data analysis was performed using qualitative and quantitative analysis. The research results were obtained from the research results by one media expert and one material expert where the material expert is 3.74 in units 1, 3.74 in units 2 and 3.77 in unit 3 with meanwhile material experts 3.64 in units 1, 3.64 in units 2 and 3.74 in unit 3 which ended up in the "Eligible" category as media learning as well as without revision. The cover of the module reflects culinary material by 87,5% the students agree and strongly agree about the statement. A total of 31 students were given a questionnaire about module satisfaction stating that: The material in the module is easy to understand by 100% the students agree and strongly agree about the statement, the language used in the module is based on daily acticities adn easy to understand by 93,8% the students agree and strongly agree about the statement, the materials in the module is in accordanece with the syllabus by 90,1 % students agree and strongly agree about the statement, the assignments given in the module are easy to understand and trigger students to practice speaking by 93,7% students agree and strongly agree about the statement, the use of images in the module is clear by 90,7 % students agree and strongly agree about the statement. the accuracy of the numbering of tables and figures by 93,8 % students agree and strongly agree about the statement, satisfied with the special English module in the culinary department by 96,9 % students agree and strongly agree about the statement. Based on these statetement the criteria of the module is in the very good criteria which means that in the module after students say they are satisfied, it means that there is no revision where the module is suitable for use by second grade students of catering department.
