Abstrak
Suhadi. 152301897. 2019. “The Correlation Between Students’ Self- Confidence and Their Speaking Achievement”. This research conducted to investigate the correlation between students’ self- confidence and their speaking achievement. The reseach is conducted based on some problems: 1) How is students’ self-confidence of eleventh grade students in MAN 4 Tangerang? 2) How is students’ speaking achievement of eleventh grade students in MAN 4 Tangerang? 3) Is there any significant correlation between selfconfidence and speaking achievement of eleventh grade students in MAN 4 Tangerang? The researcher collected the data by oral test and questionnaires. The researcher conducted this research on the 25 eleventh students on senior high school students. The result showed that students’ self- confidences and speaking achievement in MAN 4 Tangerang is normal or averages. The three levels of self- confidence were all perceived by the students with different numbers; two of the students in high level self-confidence or 8%, thirteen students in average self- confidence or 52%, and ten students in low self-confidence level or 40%. Meanwhile, the result showed that one student has very good speaking achievement or 4%. Seven students have good speaking achievement 28%. Seventeen students have average speaking achievement or 68%. Then, looking at the score correlation is 0,6 that score is between 0,40 – 0,70 which is the correlation between the two variables is strong enough, it means there is correlation. the correlation between two variables are 36%.
