Abstrak

Siti Sabbat Naulia. 152301780. 2018. The Effectiveness of Using Power Point Presentation in Teaching Writing Descriptive Text (An Experimental Research at the First Grade of MA MALNU Pusat Menes Pandeglang in Academic Year 2018/2019). This research investigates the use of power point presentation in teaching writing descriptive text. Descriptive text refers to the ability to use the content, organization, grammar, vocabulary, and mechanics of the written. This research conducted based on the statement of the problem, 1) What the power point presentation can improve students’ writing skill? 2)How to apply the power point presentation as learning media in teaching writing? 3)How effectiveness is the use power point presentation in teaching writing descriptive text to the first grade students of MA MalnuPusat Menes Pandeglang in academic year 2018/2019?. This research is aimed for to know power point presentation can improve students writing skill, how to apply power point presentation in teaching writing descriptive text in MA MALNU Pusat Menes Pandeglang, and the effectiveness of using power point presentation in teaching writing descriptive text in MA MALNU Pusat Menes Pandeglang. Method used for this research is experimental with two classes, called experiment class and control class using pre-test and post-test technique. This research involves 58 students as sample among the second class of MA MALNU Pusat Menes Pandeglang as population. Based on the result, the researcher got the mean score of pre-test was 1,4 and post-test was 3,3 from experiment class, while from control class pre-test was 1,2 and post-test was 3,1 of range 1-4. The result shows the value of to 1,49 it is higher than the value of ttable 0,67, the level of significance is 0,5. It means Ha(Alternative Hypothesis) of the result was accepted. It means this research shows that’s use the power point presentation in teaching writing descriptive text achieve better performance than those who do not use power point presentation.
