Abstrak

This researcher investigated about students’s achievement in writing skill with using peer tutoring method at the Second Grade MTs Miftahul Huda Pasirnangka, that still lacking of innovation in learning activities causes students to feel bored in learning and result in low student learning achievement. The peer tutoring method can be an alternative in a learning that can be done by a teacher to make learning more enjoyable and it is expected that students get satisfactory grades. The reason the writer uses the peer tutoring method is because the friend's language will be easier to understand and this method can eliminate students' fear in asking questions. In addition, this method can strengthen relationships between fellow students so as to strengthen social feelings. The purpose of this study was to determine student learning achievement in writing skill at MTs Miftahul Huda Pasirnangka, and to know the effect of using the peer tutoring method on student learning achievement in descriptive text material in MTs Miftahul Huda Pasirnangka. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental method. The conclusions obtained from the results of this study are: based on the analysis of the tt ( ttable ) obtained the to ( tobservation ) at 8,1. The author can deduce that of to count with tt which is as follows: In the percentage of 1% tt is 2,650. From these calculations it can be seen that the to is greater than tt (8,1 > 2,650 ). Therefore Ho (null hypothesis) is rejected and Ha (alternative hypothesis) is accepted. This shows that the peer tutoring method has an influence on writing ability, with a significant influence of 5,45.
