Abstrak
From the matters that occurred when the writer studied at SMAN 1 Baros,the writer difficulties in learn English, especially writing skill. This research specializes the application of writing ability.The writer in this case carry out some problem above, through analysis of students’ errors of writing in descriptive text. The writer suppose that will find errors when constructing writing in descriptive text by students’. The statemet of problem are:1) What are the students’ error of writing in descriptive text? 2) What are the types of errors made by the students of writing in descriptive text?. In reference to the afromentioned research problems, this research aims are:1) To know the students’ error of writing in descriptive text. 2) To know the types errors made by the students of writing in descriptive text. This research is conducted based on the identification of the problem: 1)The students have the problem of Grammar 2)The students have the difficulty in select the word 3)Students often mistakes when they make a sequence sentence. From this paper the students often make mistake in using “brother” and “sister”. I employed a qualitative methode to find out what students’ do to solve their problems in writing of descriptive text. It is a case study involving twenty students from first grade of Senior High School at SMA Negeri 1 Baros Kabupaten Serang, who take a written test of descriptive text, interview and documentation are served as the data collection method. The result of the research show that the cause of error: 1) In addition, students feel confused with formulas of tenses, and then sometimes when they made of sentence inwriting text, they add the word that which must not apppear. In this case, there were 38 errors (23,31%). And 2) in omission, students made so much error and this is the second error rate which 36 error(22,08%). 3) Students still can not distinguish which are reguler verb and irreguler, which are present tense and past tense, and which are subject and object and make error of selection. And this is the highest error rate there were 72 errors (44,71%). 4)Students made mistakes in drafting the word or confused to select the word sequence sentence which include formation writing that wherease to draft the word and group of word in English and Indonesia is different. But the error rate of orderig is lower, there were 17 errors (10,42%). Based on the findings, it can be concluded that an error analysis of students’ in descriptive text writing, the writer show that the classification of error and cause of error, especially the students’ some mistake in procces of writing from the analysis of students’ in descriptive text in writing of SMA Negeri 1 Baros Kab. Serang.
