Abstrak

Speaking is key of communication. It is interactive process of cons tucting meaning that involves producing, receiving and procecing informtaion. state the form and meaning depend on context which they occur, includimg the participant themselves, their experiences, the environment, and the purpose of speaking, they are sp ontanous, openended, and evolving. Out side the class, is used twice as often as listening, whic is in turn is used twice as much as reading and writng. In the class, speaking and listening is the most often used skill.: ” The Effectiveness of Storytelling Technique For Increasing Students’s Speaking Skill” ( An Experimental Research at The Second Grade of MA Ashabul Maimanah Cikobak). The research is conducted based on the main problems 1). How is the implementation of storytellig for increasing student’s speaking skill? 2). How i s the effectivenes storytelligfor increasing students’ speaking skill?. Based on the main problems formulated above, the purpose of the research as state as follows: 1) To know the impl ementation of storytelli g for increasing student’s speaking skill 2) To know the ef fectiveness of storytellig for increasing students’ speaking skill. To answer the questions, the writer collects data from 60 students spread into two classes, one class as the experimental class and another one is as the control class, by applying quasi experimental research method. The population is the first grade of MA Ashabul Maimanah Cikobak, while class XI A as the experiment class and class X I B as the control class are taken as the samples . Since the research uses experimental method, the data is gathered through pre - test and post - test. Based on the data result, it can be summarize that the influence The Effectivenes of storytelling for students’ speking skill shown by the result indicated a significant increased the students’ speaking skill . The result of df is calculated to t t of 5% and 1% by formula: t t 5% < t o > t t 1% = 2,00 < 3,426 > 2,56. It means that “t o ” is bigger than “t” table. So it can be conclude that the alternative hypothesi s (H a ) is accepted and null Hypothesis (H o ) is rejected. It means that storytelling has positive influence on students’ speaking skill .
