Abstrak
This research is conducted to investigate Three-Step Interview as a Technique in Developing Students’ Speaking Ability. This is classroom action research at the first grade VIIA of MTs Raudlatul Falah Pasirmuncang Kec. Jayanti Kab. Tangerang. The research is conducted based on some problems : 1) How is students’ speaking ability at the first grade VIIA of MTs Raudlatul Falah Tangerang ? 2) How is the three-step interview in developing students’ speaking ability at the first grade of MTs Raudlatul Falah Tangerang ? 3) How is the development of students’ speaking ability at the first grade VIIA of MTs Raudlatul Falah Tangerang ? To answer these questions, the writer collects the data from 37 students of VIIA as object of the research. The population is all students of first grade of MTs Raudlatul Falah Pasirmuncang Kec. Jayanti Kab. Tangerang academic year 2015/2016. Since the research uses classroom action research, the data is gathered through observation and test. The result of research based on the data shows students’ speaking ability is developed. The observation result shows speaking ability of the first grade students VIIA improves. In pre action research, 38% of students got score 70 >. In the first cycle shows that 53% of students get score 70 >. In the second cycle 81% of students got score 70 >. The development of students speaking ability is 15% from pre action research to the cycle I and 28% from the cycle I to the cycle II.
