Abstrak

This research explores the use of tongue twister technique in students‟ pronunciation. The title of this research paper is “The Effectiveness of Tongue Twisters Technique Toward Student‟s Pronunciation Skills (An Experimental Research at The Second Grade of MTs. Al-Fath Cilegon)”. The research is conducted based on the main problems 1) How is students‟ pronunciation ability at second grade of MTs Al-fath Cilegon? 2) How is tongue twisters applied in students pronunciation? 3) How is the effectiveness of tongue twisters technique toward student‟s pronunciation skills?This research is aimed at 1) Knowing how is students‟ pronunciation ability at MTs Al-fath Cilegon. 2) Knowinghow is tongue twisters applied in students pronunciation.3) Knowing how is the effectiveness of tongue twisters technique toward student‟s pronunciation skills. To answer the questions, the writer collects the data from 48 students in two classes, one class as the experimental class and another one is as the control class. The population is the Second Grade of MTs Al-Fath Cilegon, consisted 24 of students “B” as the experimental class and 24 Students class “C” as the control class are taken as the sample. Since the research uses experimental method, the data is gathered through pre-test and post-test. The result of the research shows that the hypothesis, that the null hypothesis is rejected its showed from statistical value that significant 5% = 2,01 and significant of 1% = 2,68 and the result of t0= 5,71. Based on the calculating data of t-test that showed tongue twisters technique is effective in pronunciation skill. Finally, this technique is interesting for students and makes the students more motivated. The teacher can applying this technique in the classroom. Through it the students more enjoyable during teaching and learning process.
