Abstrak
This research investigates “The Strategy of EFL Teacher in Improving Students Speaking Skills” (A case study at Pondok Pesantren Daarul Mubtadiin Jayanti Kab. Tangerang). This research is conducted based on the main problems : 1. What are the strategies of EFL Teacher that use in teaching English at Pondok Pesantren Daarul Mubtadiin Jayanti Kab. Tangerang? 2. How are the student’s response to the strategy of the EFL teacher in teaching English at Pon Pes Daarul Mubtadiin Jayanti Kab. Tangerang? This research oriented to the following aims : 1. To know what are the strategies of EFL Teacher that use in teaching English At Pon Pes Daarul Mubtadiin Jayanti Kab. Tangerang. 2. To know the student‘s response about the strategy of EFL teacher in teaching English at Pon Pes Daarul Mubtadiin Jayanti Kab. Tangerang. The method of this research is descriptive qualitative which used observation, interview and questionnaire. The subject of this research is the third class of junior high school for Islamic studies (MTs) of Pondok Pesantren Daarul Mubtadiin. The data collection is by observation of the teacher and the students’ action and activity collaboratively, interviewed of the teacher and the students, the writer also gave the questionnaire. The results of this research shows that the strategies of Pondok Pesantren Daarul Mubtadiinin improving students speaking skills are: (1) make the structure organization of language (2) make language program (3) established language infrastructure (4) give the vocabularies every days. The strategy of Pondok Pesantren Daarul Mubtadiinis the first step to get the purpose of Pondok Pesantren Daarul Mubtadiin, namely make the students to become master of English language. Moreover, in the classroom, some teacher usually some strategies in learning process to improve students’ speaking skill, they are: acting scripts, discussion and simulation or role play. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that in pondok pesantren Daarul Mubtadiin, some teachers use the effective strategies to improve students’ speaking skill and it is hoped that it can be valuable as the information resource for students, teachers, and the researcher herself.
