Abstrak

This quantitative quasi-experimental study involved 48 students at SDIT Widya Cendekia to test the effectiveness of Microsoft Teams on reading comprehension and assess teacher readiness. Data were collected via pre-tests, post-tests, and surveys, then analysed using the t-test. The primary results demonstrated a significant improvement in the experimental group; their average score soared from 57.96 to 86.04, which was statistically significant (p<0.001). The direct impact of this AI was robust, and teacher readiness also contributed moderately (N- Gain 56%) to learning success, although its impact was smaller than the application's direct effect (66%). However, the technology's implementation faced several obstacles among teachers. The most dominant challenges were technical difficulty (40%), followed by a lack of training (33.3%) and limited access to devices (23.3%). Teacher readiness varied, influenced by their technical knowledge in operating the platform and their pedagogical knowledge in designing effective activities. Readiness data were measured with a validated questionnaire showing high reliability (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.833). In conclusion, the adoption of AI technology like Microsoft Teams is quantitatively proven to be effective in enhancing students' reading comprehension. This success hinges on teacher readiness to integrate the technology with appropriate teaching strategies. The clear implication is that technology investment must be balanced with continuous professional development programs and adequate technical support for educators.
