Abstrak

This paper discusses the comparison between teaching listening using audio native English speaker accent and audio non -native English speaker accent among eleventh (XI) grade stsudents at SMA N 6 Serang City. This research is motivated by the students’ poor listening understanding and their lack of regarding pronunciation, intonation, an accent comprehension. This research aims to determine the effectiveness between the two teaching methods at SMA N 6 Serang City. This study is a type of quantitative research using experimental research methods. The design of this research is a true experimental design. The population used consists of all students from class of XI-F1 and class of XI-C3 at SMA N 6 Serang City, woth the sampling technique consisting of experimental class 1 and experimental class 2. The data collection technique in this study uses test instruments. The collected research data is analyzed using the assistance of Microsoft Excel computer program and SPSS version 30 software for windows, this is done by conducting tests for normality and homogeneity, as well as t-test and effect size tests. The results of this study indicate that there is no significant difference between the tow teaching methods mentioned above. This is evidenced by the results of the hypothesis test conducted in two different classes. The result obtained from the hypothesis test is 0.278 with a significance level of 0,05, which means that this figure is greater than 0.05.
