Abstrak
Nuni Tuswijayani. 161230113. 2020. “ The Utility of Youtube Animated Video to Improve Students Writing Skill on Explanation Text” ( A Classroom Action Research at The Second Grade of MAN 2 Kota Serang) This research aims to improve writing skill with explanation text using Youtube Animated Video on Second Grade of MAN 2 Kota Serang. The type of this research is a collaborative Classroom Action research (CAR). The subjects of this study were second grade students of MAN 2 Kota Serang consisting of 30 students. The data collection technique in this study use writing test, and observation. Qualitative data collection instrument uses observation sheets and quantitative uses writing test. This research shows the utility of Youtube Animated Video can improve students’ writing skill at second grade of MAN 2 Kota Serang. The improvement of writing skill is evidenced by the grade point average of 60 rising 72 and 80. The percentage of achievement of the average score of writing skill has increased on pre-action is 23 %, in cycle I is 53%, and in cycle II is 87%. The result of writing skill test after the implementation of learning writing skill by using Youtube Animated Video continue to increase and show effectiveness in learning to improve writing ability of students of XI Bahasa MAN 2 Kota Serang. The increase is implied by the success indicators of the process and the product in each cycle.
