Abstrak
ract The search for an understanding of the Divine messages should be found in the latest formulation, so that the Quran is able to provide brilliant and insightful answers or can soothe truth seekers in all forms of problems, both those that have, are, and will occur later. The appeal in the language of the Quran is revealed in various forms of words: afala ta’qiluun, afala tatadabbarun, afala tubshirun and others. These words are a series of offers so that people always explore, study, and research through the world of education as the task of the Caliphate. There are two main issues about the nature of human beings that I examine in this paper. First, the examination of the ‘reason’ which is the greatest potential of human as a creature of God. Second, the study of the relationship between reason, human, and education. In this study, I will try to elaborate on these two aspects through an analysis of the Quran, Al-Baqarah Verse 170. This paper shows that reason in the philosophy of education perspective is like two sides of a coin that cannot be separated from one another. If philosophy is crowned as the mother of science or the parent of all forms of science, then certainly reason will become the sun of science and the main media in the world of education. Keywords : Quran, Reason, Science, Philosophy of Education, Islamic Education Abstrak : Pencarian terhadap sebuah pemahaman terhadap pesan-pesan Ilahiah hendaknya dicarikan formulasi terbaru, sehingga Alquran mampu memberikan jawaban yang cemerlang dan gemilang atau dapat menyejukkan para pencari kebenaran dalam segala bentuk persoalan, baik yang sudah, sedang, maupun yang akan terjadi kemudian. Seruan tersebut dalam bahasa Alquran terungkap dalam berbagai bentuk kata: afala ta’qiluun, afala tatadabbarun, afala tubshirun dan lain sebagainya. Kata–kata tersebut merupakan rangkaian tawaran agar manusia senantiasa menggali, mengkaji, dan meneliti lewat dunia pendidikan sebagai tugas kekhalifahan. Ada dua persoalan pokok tentang hakikat manusia yang saya kaji dalam makalah ini. Pertama, telaah tentang ‘akal’ yang menjadi potensi terbesar manusia sebagai makhluk Tuhan.
