Abstrak
The research was conducted based on the main problem: 1). How is the students’ ability in pronouncing consonants at second grade of SMPN 1 Cinangka . 2). How is shadow reading technique applied in teaching pronunciation? 3). How is the influence of shadow reading in students’ pronouncing consonants and based on the objectives of Research : The population of this research was the students of “SMPN 1 Cinangka, especially at second grade of students”, the writer took 50 of 54 students as the sample and divided into two classes, one class is as the experiment class and another one is as control class, by applied experimental class and another one is as control class, by applied experimental research method. 25 students used as experiment class come from class VIII G and 25 students as control class come from class VIII F.
