Abstrak
This research is conduct ed based on the main problem 1) How is the students’ speaking ability at MTs Al - Hidayah Ciomas ; 2) How is the effectiveness of bits and pieces game in teaching descriptive text . T his research is aimed at 1) To explain students’ of speaking skill at eighth grade in MTs Al - Hidayah Ciomas ; 2) To know the effectiveness of bits and pieces game in teaching descriptive text . T he method of this research is quasi experiment. To answer the question, the researcher collected data from 60 students divided into two classes , on e class as experiment class another one as control class, by applying experimental research method. The population is the eighth grade of MT s Al - H idayah ciomas , while class VIII A as the e xperiment class and class VIII B as the control class are taken as the samples. After collecting and calculating the data , the value of (t observation) is higher than (t table) t observation= 7,2 t table= 1,67 or t observation 7,2 > 1,67 or t observation 7,2 > 2,39 , so is rejected and is accepted. . So, the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. It means that alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted that there is a significant difference between students’ s peaking skill in descriptive text using Bits and Pieces game and without using Bits and Pieces game . In other word, Bits and Pieces game method on students speaking skill is absolutely effective. This research find out whether Bits and Pieces game can be an alternative to develop students speaking skill in the Eighth Grade of MTs Al - Hidayah Ciomas , which can be seen five aspects, they are accent, grammar, vocabulary, fluency and comprehension. Therefore, it is recommended that teacher and students, should use Bits and Pieces game as a good alternative in teaching and learning speaking.
