Abstrak

Rian kurniawan. 142301620. 2018. The use virtual assistant application in teaching pronunciation ( An Experimental research at second grade of SMAN Krakatau Steel Cilegon) This research is intended to obtain the empirical evidence about the effect of virtual assistant application in teaching pronunciation at the second grade of SMAN 2 Krakatau steel , the method of this research was a quasi-experimental research which classified as a quantitative research. The population of the research was 60 students from two classes. Purposive sampling technique was chosen by the research to determine the experimental class and the control class of the research. Each class consisted 30 students. Moreover, the research used a set of oral tests as the instrument of the research. The oral tests were conducted on the pre-test and the post-test. In the experimental class, the pronunciation teaching and learning were conducted by implementing the virtual assistant application, meanwhile, in the implementing the conventional teaching technique based on the lesson plan. Before doing the treatment, the researcher conducted the student were taught by using the virtual assistant application. at the end of the treatment, the researcher conducted a post-test. The result of the data analysis is using t-test the value of t_o (t_observation) was 3,9 the degree of freedom (df) = 58. In the degree significance 5% = 1,67 in degree of significance 1% = 2,39. After that the writer compared the data with t_t (t table) both in degree of significance 5% and 1%. Therefore t_o:t_t = 3,9 > 1,67 in degree of significance 5% and t_o:t_t = 3,9 > 2,39 in degree of significance 1%. is bigger than it means there is significance effect of using virtual assistant application in teaching pronunciation.
