Abstrak
DESY NOVIYANI. 142301597. 2018. “The Use of Predict, Organize, Rehearse, Practice, and Evaluate (PORPE) Strategy for Teaching Students’ Reading Comprehension at the Tenth Grade of SMAN 1 Ciomas)”. ABSTRACT This research investigates the use of PORPE strategy in reading comprehension, specifically it is written in the title of this research paper. This research is aimed for finding out the student’s skill in reading comprehension of the tenth grade students’ of SMAN 1 Ciomas; finding out the effect of using PORPE strategy in teaching reading comprehension of the tenth grade of SMAN 1 Ciomas. To know the effect of using PORPE strategy in teaching reading comprehension of the tenth grade of SMAN 1 Ciomas, the writer used quasi experimental with two classes, called experimental class and control class using pre test and post test technique. This research involves 60 students as sample among tenth grade of SMAN 1 Ciomas year 2018/2019 as population, while X IPA 1 as the experimental class and X IPA 2 as the control class are taken as the sample. The result of this research shows that the hypothesis null is rejected, it showed from the significant statistical value 5% = 2,00 and with level significant 1% = 2,66 and the result of to = 4,06. Based on the data calculating of t-test can be conclude that PORPE strategy is effective in teaching reading comprehension at X IPA 1 of SMA Negeri 1 Ciomas.
