Abstrak

Tiara Dwi Oktaviani. 142301729. 2018. “ Using Frayer Model Strategy through Vocabulary in Teaching Stusents’ Descriptive Text Writing (A Quasi Experimental Research at the first Grade of MAN 1 Pandeglang”.(Undergraduate Research Paper, English Education Department Faculty of Education and Teacher Training, the Islamic University of Sultan Maulana Hasanudin Banten. Advisers: As‟ari S.S.,M.Si and Emeliya Sukma Dara Damanik, M.Hum ABSTRACT The research investigates using frayer model strategy through vocabulary in teaching students‟ descriptive text writing. This research conducted based on the research questions 1). How is the students ability in descriptive text. ?2). How is the implementation of Frayer Model Strategy in teaching vocabulary.?3).How is effectiveness of frayer model applied in teaching vocabulary on descriptive text writing. ? 1) To find out students‟ ability in descriptive text first grade MAN 1 Pandeglang . 2). To know the application of frayer model strategy in teaching vocabulary.? 3). To know the effectiveness of frayer model applied in teaching vocabulary on descriptive text writing.? The method used in this research is quasi experimental method using t-test. To find out the significant difference in the students‟ writing between the experimental class and control class through the score of pre-test and post-test. The research conducted in the first grade (X) of MAN 1 Pandeglang , and take students‟ from class X IPA 1 consist of 25 students as the sample of experimental class and X IPA 2 consist of 22 students as the sample of control class. The result of analysis the data conclusion is shows the value of to is = 6,54 > tt = 1.67 in degree of significance 5%. The score of to = 6,54 > tt = 1,67 in degree of significance 5%. (alternative hypothesis ) of the result is accepted and (null hypothesis) is rejected. It means that significance is the effectiveness of using Frayer Model Strategy toward students‟ writing on Descriptive Text at the first grade of MAN 1 Pandeglang. From the result of the test, it can be concluded that the frayer model strategy can improve students‟ writing on descriptive text and also can be applied in teaching learning process, especially in improving students‟ writing. Keywords: frayer model strategy, experiment, students’ writing, descriptive text.
