Abstrak

Reka Puspita Sari (152301807). An Error Analysis on Surface Taxonomy Strategy in Writing Recount Text (A Case Study at Second Semester Majoring English Department of State Islamic University Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten). Skripsi of English Education Department at the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training of Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin State Islamic University of Banten. Advisers : Dr. H. Naf’an Tarihoran, M.Hum, and Dr. Hj. Anita, S.S., M.Pd. This research aimed at classifying the categories of Errors and to analyzing Psycholinguistic sources of Errors in writing recount text. The subject of this research was the second semester majoring English Department of State Islamic University academic year 2018-2019. There were 22 students subject of research from 32 students in second A semester . This research used a qualitative method with case study design. The instruments used for collecting data were students’ writing recount text test and students’ Psycholinguistic sources Errors Questionnaire. Both instruments were conducted to assess students’ writing recount text, students’ errors on surface taxonomy strategy and students’ psycholinguistic sources error. The result of the research showed that there are the three score of students’ writing assessment those are : Score 7-7.9 (low performance) consist of eight students, score 8-8.9 (good performance) consist of nine students, score 9 (very good performance) consist of five students. the result of the classification of Errors there are four part: Additions number of errors 116 with percentage 70.3%, Omissions number of errors 17 with percentage 10.3%, and Misinformations and Misorderings have same number of errors 16 with same percentages 9.7%. based on the total result students’ psycholinguistic sources errors most of students doing mistakes consist of processing problems and communication strategies with the number 14 or 64%, and errors consist of transfer, intraligual, and unique (induced) with the number is 8 or 36%.
