Abstrak

The writer investigates the use of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) technique in reading Descriptive text . this research is aimed to know the students’ reading comprehension on Descriptive text at the second grade at SMP Riyadhlul Mubtadiin Pandeglang : to know the students’ reading comprehension on Descriptive text at the second grade at SMP Riyadhlul Mubtadii n Pandeglang, to know the CIRC technique in teaching reading Descriptive text, to know the effectiveness of CIRC technique in teaching reading on Descriptive text. To answer question, the writer collect data from 64 student’s spread in two classes, one cla sses as the experimental class, and another on is as the control class using pre - test and post test technique. This research involves 64 students’ as sample among the second grade of SMP Riyadlul Mubtadiin Pandeglang in 2017 as population. The result of t his research shows that the students’ reading comprehension on Descriptive text which use CIRC technique achieve better performance than those which do not use CIRC technique.
