Abstrak

Broken Home is a problem that makes children lose parental love, without parental love and supervision from them, children can have bad behavior. Broken home children tend to have deviant behavior, violate the norms of the surrounding environment and self-destruct. as experienced by children in Bojong Pandan Village who behaved negatively because their parents divorced. Based on the background above, the formulation of the problem in this study is: 1) How is the negative behavior of children who experience broken homes? 2) How is REBT applied in reducing the negative behavior of broken home children? 3) What are the results of applying REBT in reducing the negative behavior of broken home children? This study aims: 1) To find out the negative behavior of children who experience broken homes 2) To apply the REBT technique in reducing the negative behavior of broken home children. 3) To describe the results of applying REBT in reducing the negative behavior of broken home children. The method used in this research is qualitative action research with action research using Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy techniques. This type of action research includes data snippets that provide an overview of the presentation of reports and actions in solving problems. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The research was conducted from May 2022 to December 2022, with the number of respondents in this study being 3 children with the initials AR, IN and GI who had negative behavior due to a broken home. Based on the research conducted, it can be concluded: 1) The condition of children who have negative behavior because of this broken home is that they cannot think rationally, so the actions they take become negative behavior. 2) The application of the REBT technique in reducing negative behavior in broken home children aims to make children want to do activities that are more useful and bring positive attitudes and behavior and learn to be responsible for their lives. 3) As a result of applying this REBT technique, children want to change their negative behavior into positive behavior, can think rationally and slowly change their habits for the better.
