Abstrak

This Research is conducted on the main problems 1) finding out the purpose in using CSW game toward students’ writing skill on descriptive text at the first grade students of MA Darunnajah 14 NurulIlmi, Serang; 2) finding out students’ understanding on CSW game procedure that is apllied by the teacher on descriptive text; 3) finding out the effectiveness of CSW game on descriptive text in the first grade of MA Darunnajah 14 NurulIlmi, Serang. To answer the questions, the writer uses quasi experimental method in this research. The writter collects data from 50 students spread into two classes, one class as experimental group and the other one is as the control group, by applying experimental research method. The population is the first grade of MA Darunnajah 14 NurulIlmi, Serang 2016-2017, while class X A as the experimental group and class X B as the control group are taken as the sample. Since the research uses writing test involve pre-test and post-test to know the students’ writing skill. The result of the research states that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. After collecting and calculating the data, the value of in degree of significance 5% and in degree of significance 1% so that (alternative hypothesis) of the result is accepted and (null hypothesis) is rejected. It means that Using of CSW Game has significant influence on teaching writing descriptive text than without using CSW game method. Based on the findings of this study, it found that Using of CSW game strategieshas effective and applicable at the firsth grade of MA Darunnajah 14 Nurul Ilmi, Serang.
