Abstrak

Christian is the second largest religion in Indonesia, after Islam. The relation between Christian and Islam frequenth/ emerges prejudices, misunderstandings, and conflicts. Based on the historical records, Christians j'requenthf refused the Government's rules that have been agreed by the adherents of all religions in Indonesia due to the interests of Christianii^ation developed from Portuguese and Dutch colonial era until the Independence Day of Indonesia. The efforts of Christianigation seems more aggtssive after the dissolution of the communist party and during New Order era. As a result, many communist people and the poors became the Christians at that time. The Christians' efforts to convert the believers of other religons in Indonesia, especially Muslims, were done by various ways and forms, and they still continue to this day.This Pt^er answers several main research questions as follow: how is the portrait of Christianigation In Indonesia from 1966-1998?; how are the responses of Mohammad Natsir, Hasbuiiah Bakry and Abujamin Roham as Muslim intellectuals in mapping Christianittyttion in Indonesia?; and how are the efforts of these figures in stemming Christianisgition in Indonesia?. This paper hows that Christianisgttion in Indonesia is still taking place up to the present. Even though on the name of social activities, the efforts of Christianis^ation in the New Order era were conducted systematically, well-organivyd, and carefully planned so that they succeeded to convert Muslims to be Christians satisfactorily. Such condition was admitted by Mohammad Natsir, Hasbuiiah Bakry, and Abujamin Roham so that they strictly responded and stated that Christianis;ation has violated Pancasila and UUD 1945 as well as infringed the ethics of proselytisjng that potentially evoked prejudices, conflicts, and destruction of inter-religous harmony in Indonesia. Those thru figures made serious efforts to weir Christianisption in Indonesia by writing scientific works dealing with Christianivgition in Indonesia in order to fortify faith and strengthen the unity of Muslims, training and preparing professionalproselytigtrs, performing dialogues and discussions, and fostering interreligous harmony so as to create peace and unity of Indonesia Agama Kristen adalah agama terbesar kedua di Indonesia setelah Islam. Hubungan antara Kristen dan Islam sering menimbulkan kecurigaan, kesalahpahaman, dan konflik. Dalam catatan sejarah, umat Kristen sering menolak berbagai aturan pemerintah yang disepakati oleh semua penganut agama di Indonesia karena kepentingan Kristenisasi yang dikembangkan sejak masa kolonial Portugis dan Belanda hingga masa kemerdekaan. Upaya kristenisasi nampak lebih agresif pada masa setelah dibubarkannya Partai Komunis dan pada masa Orde Baru. Hasilnya, banyak orang-orang komunis dan orang-orang miskin yang menjadi pengikut Kristen pada masa itu. Upaya Kristen untuk mengkonversi umat beragama lain di Indonesia, khususnya umat Muslim, dilakukan dengan berbagai cara dan beragam bentuk dan masih berlangsung hingga saat ini. Kesimpulan dari tulisan ini menunjukkan bahwa Kristenisasi di Indoneisa masih berjalan hingga saat ini. fValaupun alas nama kegiata sosial, upaya Kristenisasi pada masa Orde Baru dilakukan dengan sangat sistematis, terorganisir dan terencana dengan sangat malang sehingga berhasil mengkristenkan umat Islam dengan sangat memuaskan. Hal tersebut secara jelas diakui oleh Mohammad Natsir, Hasbuiiah Bakry, dan Abujamin Roham sehingga mereka merespons dengan tegas dan menyalakan bahwa Kristenisasi itu melanggar Pancasila dan UUD 1945 serta menyalahi etika penyiaran agama yang dapat menimbulkan kecurigaan, konflik dan rusaknya kerukunan antar umat beragama di Indonesia. Ketiga tokoh tersebut berupaya membendung arus Kristenisasi di Indonesia dengan cara menulLs karya ilmiah yang berkenaan dengan Kristenisasi di Indonesia untuk membentengi aqidah dan memperkuat kesatuan umat Islam, melatih dan mempersiapkan dai yang profesional, dan juga mengadakan dialog, musyawarah, dan membina kerukunan antar umat beragama sehingga tercipta kedamaian dan kesatuan bangsa Indonesia.
